31 Mulheres

De 27 de fevereiro a 15 de junho de 2025, o MAC/CCB (Museu de Arte Contemporânea, Centro Cultural de Belém) apresenta a exposição 31 Mulheres, um tributo à exposição histórica organizada por Peggy Guggenheim em 1943, na sua galeria Art of This Century em Nova Iorque. Esta exposição pioneira foi dedicada exclusivamente a artistas mulheres e destacou o trabalho de grandes nomes do surrealismo e da arte abstrata, muitas vezes ignoradas pela mentalidade patriarcal da época.

A exposição reúne artistas consagradas e novos talentos, provenientes da Europa e dos Estados Unidos, que utilizaram a arte para desafiar as normas e questionar as estruturas patriarcais que dominaram o campo artístico. O foco está em 31 mulheres que marcaram a história da arte e cujas obras continuam a ter um impacto profundo no mundo contemporâneo.

From February 27 to June 15, 2025, MAC/CCB (Museum of Contemporary Art, Belém Cultural Center) presents the exhibition 31 Women, a tribute to the groundbreaking 1943 exhibition organized by Peggy Guggenheim at her gallery Art of This Century in New York. This pioneering exhibition was dedicated exclusively to women artists and highlighted the work of major figures in surrealism and abstract art, often overlooked by the patriarchal mindset of the time.

The exhibition brings together established artists and new talents from Europe and the United States, who used art to challenge norms and question the patriarchal structures that dominated the art field. The focus is on 31 women who made history in art and whose work continues to have a profound impact on the contemporary world.
