VORTEX: NIGHTFALL + DEATH & THE MAIDEN

Já International Theatre kicks off its autumn season with VORTEX, a double bill of two English language plays ‘Death and the Maiden’ and ‘Nightfall’.

*‘NIGHTFALL’* is an original sci-fi play paying homage to the literary creations of Isaac Asimov. The play tracks the last days on a planet Lagaash with 7 suns that usually don’t all set at the same time, but in the next 7 days, they will and for the first time in 10000 years, Lagaash will know night. Fear, Denial, Resistance and ultimately hope colour the moment as life cradled in the gentle bosom of light grapples with the shadows that have waited so long for nightfall.

*‘DEATH AND THE MAIDEN’* is an adaptation of a classic play by Ariel Dorfman which presents a gripping chronicle of three aging survivors of a long gone fascist regime coming to terms with the choices, sins and compulsions made in the dark of their oppressive past.
