RIGHT TEMPO 30TH ANNIVERSARY LISBON
On the 17th of June Miradouro de Baixo will be hosting the 30th Anniversary party of iconic Italian music label Right Tempo. The event will feature a diverse, high-quality musical and cultural programming, including 3 DJ sets, a live concert and a book presentation and talk with Right Tempo’s founder himself. It will be an occasion to dive deep into the music and history of a label who devoted its life to the dissemination of Jazz and other sounds from the tradition of Black music. The line-up features DJ sets by Right Tempo’s founder Rocco Pandiani, by DJ, ethnomusicologist and programmer JU.LIA and by Whole Ball of Wax, plus a concert by ¡Golpe! and João Carreiro (Hot Clube de Portugal) and a talk and book presentation on the history of Jazz by Caribbean drummer Sonnie Taylor, moderated by music critic and radio host Rui Miguel Abreu, founder of acclaimed music magazine Rimas e Batidas. The event is part of a series of celebrations taking place in several European cities and festivals along the year – such as Blue Note in Milan, Nišville Festival in Serbia and NovaraJazz festival.
