Entre os muros do antigo Hospital Miguel Bombarda, ergue-se uma estrutura singular e inquietante: o Pavilhão de Segurança, conhecido como Panóptico. Um espaço concebido para vigiar, conter e observar, que carrega as memórias das vidas que ali passaram.
Nesta visita guiada, percorremos os corredores circulares e algumas celas individuais, refletindo sobre a história, memória e arquitetura deste local. Em paralelo, uma exposição fotográfica no antigo refeitório e uma instalação artística evocam o universo de Valentim de Barros, bailarino que encontrou na arte uma forma de liberdade dentro da sua cela.

🌀 The Panopticon and the Valentim Universe // Guided Tour – Exhibition 🎭📸
Within the walls of the former Hospital Miguel Bombarda stands a unique and unsettling structure: the Security Pavilion, also known as the Panopticon. Designed to observe, contain, and control, this space carries the memories of those who once inhabited it.
During this guided tour, we will walk through its circular corridors and individual cells, reflecting on the history, memory, and architecture of the place. Additionally, a photographic exhibition in the old dining hall and an art installation in one of the cells bring to life the universe of Valentim de Barros, a dancer who transformed his confinement into a space of artistic refuge.
