De 25 de fevereiro a 1 de março de 2025, o Teatro do Bairro Alto recebe a nova criação de Teresa Coutinho, um espetáculo que mergulha numa ficção distópica sobre uma ditadura futura, onde as mulheres, acusadas de bruxaria, têm seus direitos brutalmente restringidos.

Inspirada na obra Cassandra, de Christa Wolf, que explora a integração da experiência feminina na história, a encenadora e autora faz uma profunda investigação sobre a caça às bruxas na Europa, refletindo sobre o impacto do sistema feudal e do capitalismo, que vitimaram milhões de mulheres ao longo de três séculos.

O espetáculo combina pesquisa histórica e ficção, com uma proposta de alternativa ao sistema bélico masculino, que moldou a História da humanidade. Em palco, um extenso elenco feminino composto por grandes intérpretes como Tânia Alves, Ana Baptista, Sara de Castro, Rita Cruz, Maria Duarte, entre outras.

From February 25 to March 1, 2025, the Teatro do Bairro Alto hosts the new creation of Teresa Coutinho, a play set in a future dictatorship, where women, accused of witchcraft, have their rights brutally restricted.

Inspired by the work Cassandra, by Christa Wolf, which explores the integration of the feminine experience into history, the playwright and director delves into the witch hunts in Europe, reflecting on the impact of feudalism and capitalism that victimized millions of women over three centuries.

The performance combines historical research and fiction, offering an alternative to the masculine war system that shaped human history. On stage, a large female cast includes notable performers like Tânia Alves, Ana Baptista, Sara de Castro, Rita Cruz, Maria Duarte, and more.
