Lisbon Improv Classes: Building Improvised Scenes

Do you want to discover the pleasure of the unexpected? Play with joy and connect with other people? Improve your acting skills through improv?

What is improv? Improvisational theatre or improv is a form of live theatre in which the characters, dialogue and storyline of a scene are made up in the moment. The stories are developed spontaneously out of live interaction. Each player adapts to the scene and drives the story forward by flexibly integrating their ideas with those of their scene partner.

The upcoming Lisbon Improv Classes will explore the creative possibilities of improvisational theatre. With basic exercises of mime, physical theatre, and various imagination techniques we will approach spontaneous play.

We will look to establish a foundation for our scene work. As we build our confidence on stage, we aim to inspire our partners on stage. By committing to the characters, we will learn how to build relationships through dialogue, physicality, and emotional reactions.

We will develop skills to help us find inspiration to initiate scenes and follow exciting storylines.

This course focuses on scene work to help us recognise patterns and strengthen our storytelling skills. In the process, we will learn about the variety of improv short forms games.

Beginners are welcome and this course is open to all levels of theatre experience and language skills.
