De 23 de abril a 31 de outubro de 2025, a Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian apresenta a exposição “Haverá Eleições.”, dedicada às primeiras eleições livres realizadas em Portugal após o 25 de abril de 1974.

A exposição celebra o 50.º aniversário desse marco crucial na história da democracia portuguesa, onde 92% dos cidadãos recenseados participaram nas eleições que conferiram nova legitimidade aos partidos políticos e permitiram a convocação da Assembleia Constituinte. Este evento histórico abriu caminho à elaboração da Constituição de 1976 e à consolidação da democracia em Portugal.

Maria Inácia Rezola, Comissária Executiva da Comissão Comemorativa dos 50 anos do 25 de Abril, recorda a importância desta data e o impacto que as eleições de 1975 tiveram na história política do país.

From April 23 to October 31, 2025, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation presents the exhibition “There Will Be Elections.”, dedicated to the first free elections held in Portugal after the April 25, 1974 Revolution.

This exhibition celebrates the 50th anniversary of this pivotal moment in Portuguese democracy, where 92% of registered voters participated in the elections that granted new legitimacy to political parties and paved the way for the Constituent Assembly, responsible for drafting the Portuguese Constitution of 1976, thereby solidifying democracy in Portugal.
