Artist Talks, by Ahetu
Ahetu is pleased to present, in partnership with Second Home, an engaging evening of art and conversation, featuring a panel discussion with talented artists, a networking session, and an exhibition of their works. This event will provide participants with the opportunity to explore the creative processes of the artists, connect with other art enthusiasts, and view a curated collection of contemporary works.
First, meet Andreia Costa, a self-taught visual artist from Angola. Her journey into the world of art began with pencil sketches of her favorite childhood animated characters and has since evolved into a rich and diverse portfolio. Her work is deeply inspired by the complexities of womanhood, the hidden emotions within the soul and tales and stories from Angola. She blends abstract, realism and surrealism as she draws inspirations from stories and tales of her culture and her personal stories.
Andreia is launching a new collection first hand in this event! The “Transição” collection invites the public to dive into the universe of changes and transformations that permeate our lives. In constant movement, transition is the process by which we go through different states — physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual. On this journey, she tried to explore the moments of passage, where the old meets the new and the known dissolves into the unknown. The works presented reflect cycles of transformation: birth and death, light and shadow, silence and sound. The collection is an invitation to reflect on these passages, on what changes in us and around us, as we navigate between the past and the future.
Entry is free, and this event includes a panel talk, art exhibition and a networking session at the end! We will be waiting for you!
