Eis os Swans de volta à estrada, nesse refúgio nómada com pessoas dentro que tão bem alimenta a sua energia criativa. Esta nova digressão em 2023 celebra um novo álbum, mas também marca como um ferro em brasa a comemoração de 40 anos de uma discografia absolutamente incontornável. Mais do que uma discografia, são 40 anos de uma vida pulsante que contem múltiplas existências, alguns enterros e muitas revoluções sonoras. Michael Gira foi conduzindo os Swans tal qual uma costela extraída a si próprio, carnosa e intuitiva, assumindo o seu fim várias vezes enquanto provocava a ressurreição noutras tantas, como se fosse impossível deixar de ser deus e estancar uma ideia que nasceu para ser imortal. Ausentes de Portugal desde 2017, a pandemia impossibilitou-nos de ver em palco a grandiosidade de Leaving Meaning, o belíssimo álbum de 2019, e também é por isso que não podemos deixar de aproveitar qualquer oportunidade que nos colocarmos de frente para os Swans, aceitando de peito aberto tudo o que nos querem oferecer.

The Swans are back on the road, their nomad shelter with people inside that fuels their creative energy like nothing else. Celebrating their new album, the 2023 tour is also a branding iron commemorating forty years of a vibrant, ground-breaking discography that holds multiple existences, a few burials and many sonic revolutions. Michael Gira might have made the Swans from one of his ribs: he has led the band intuitively, as he would his own flesh, repeatedly ending it then resurrecting it, as if he couldn’t but play god and stop what was born to be immortal. We saw them live in 2017, then the pandemic kept the majesty of Leaving Meaning – their magnificent 2019 release – away from the touring circuit, which is yet another reason not to miss this opportunity to stand before the Swans, and take in what they have to give.
