Química #42 with Astrea, Ecstasya, João Melgueira & Vitor Domingos

Química returns for its 42nd edition – this will be the second time that the party lands in Pink Street’s Musicbox, this time with the objective of delivering a faster, wilder and harder happening! DJ and producer Astrea seeks to deny any rule that bounds an artist to a genre. Flowing with fluidity, with a selection that ranges from hip-hop to funk and reggaeton, or from bass music to jungle, until techno and hardcore are reached — Astrea creates an universe that can be coherent despite its eclecticism. A delivery of dance music culture that shapeshifts according to the club and its audience. If you’re paying attention to Lisbon’s growing hardcore scene, you’re familiar to Ecstasya — having worked with collectives such as Mina Suspension and Rádio Quântica, the DJ and producer founded the hard dance party Maythey and experimental music nights Circa A.D. and Swamp. Hardcore, makina, trance and energetic hyperpop synths are ingredients in the recipe they’ll be creating at the decks, with the aim of creating an atmosphere of hard gut-wrenching sounds filled with playful or ethereal energy. Residents João Melgueira and Vitor Domingos are no strangers to the Química nights — after all, they founded this whole thing and have been spinning tunes for a while now! Known for their eclectic identities, seeking to glue together the night’s guest acts, you can expect a blast of euphoric sounds for the 42nd Química! While you’ll find Melgueira playing forgotten maximal tracks, rave classics and not-so-obvious techno selections, Vitor will travel through breaks, old school trance and tension building deconstructed club music.
